About Beans

We are a foodtech startup founded in late 2023 on a mission to reduce food waste while helping consumers save money. The biggest problem in food is waste. The biggest problem for consumers is inflation. We thought: what if we could help both?

At Beans, we are on a mission to help companies manage their waste more intelligently and, ultimately, eradicate it. At our very core, we believe in challenging the status quo by giving a second chance to products that would otherwise be thrown out. We believe in a world where there is no such thing as waste, only pre-repurposed products.

In France, ⅙ of the population has had to skip meals in the last year to stay afloat. We created Beans to put food brands’ unsold inventory at their disposal via a solution that can help them save grocery expenses by up to 50% every month.

Everything we do, we do it with kindness. We challenge every thought, every assumption, every number. We work to provoke alternative thinking and encourage open discussion, and we do it with radical kindness and respect. We have a strict no-asshole-policy.

After only 6 months of operating, we’ve already delivered more than 1700 orders and are seeing solid growth. It’s time to take ownership, empower businesses to do better and give consumers their purchasing power back!

The founding team

We are Ines & Louis, two co-founders with 6+ years of experience in the sector. We are crazy passionate about food and operations, as evidenced by our time at companies such as Deliveroo, Gorillas, The Modern Milkman and Choco collectively. We believe that one is not merely born with rights but also responsibility, so we are both highly driven by the idea of creating something that has a genuine positive impact on society and the world. That’s why at its core, our model is such that the higher the revenue, the higher the impact.

Key responsibilities

Customer acquisition:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive performance marketing strategies across multiple channels including Paid Search, SEO, Paid Social, Affiliates, etc.
  • Plan, execute, and optimize the acquisition funnel to drive revenue and minimize customer acquisition costs.
  • Manage budgets across channels, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet performance targets.
  • Manage external partners to make them an extension of the team

Customer retention:

  • Design and execute strategies to increase customer engagement, loyalty, and lifetime value
  • Implement and manage CRM programs, referral programs, and other retention initiatives
  • Utilize email marketing + whatsapp/SMS, content marketing, and personalized communication to nurture customer relationships.

And

  • Work closely with the teams to align campaigns with the overarching marketing calendar, brand values and USPs
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Use data-driven approaches to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within campaign performance
  • Present regular performance reports to senior management and stakeholders

The role is based in Paris. Although we will only operate in the French market at first, we are an international company at heart, which is why the role requires fluency in both French and English.

Qualifications & attitudes

  • 4+ years of experience in growth marketing, digital marketing, or a similar role, preferably in the e-commerce.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience as a growth marketing manager or similar role.
  • In-depth expertise of digital marketing channels to include paid search, paid social, affiliates, etc.
  • Data driven with strong analytical skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • A test and learn mentality.
  • In depth knowledge of marketing technologies and platforms (e.g. Google Ads, FB Ads Manager, Google Analytics, CRM software, A/B testing tools).
  • Proven experience in growing a customer base.
  • A team player with a collaborative spirit, ready to join a close-knit team where ideas and creativity bloom.
